Did you Know? …As early as 1810, the people of Union Village, from the proceeds of a lottery, built a school-house, and called it the Smithfield Academy. This school soon acquired an excellent reputation as an institution for learning. Some 200 hundred years later the North Smithfield Community continues to show their dedication and commitment to education and built a truly amazing Middle School facility.
